Sagittaria subulata Pusilla

Under the names “Sagittaria pusilla” or “Sagittaria subulata var. pusilla” an arrowhead is sold that is said to develop a lower growth habit than the “normal” form of Sagittaria subulata when it is grown in the same conditions. The overall height of S. subulata forms depends very much on the conditions they are cultivated in (please see the entry for Sagittaria subulata). There is indeed a Sagittaria form which stays reliably low under the same conditions, but this plant is rarely cultivated. However, at least in part the “Sagittaria pusilla” plants may get 30 cm or more.
